We wanted to be involved in a business venture that gives back to the environment, instead of taking from it. We looked around and realized that global warming and its damaging effects are not to be ignored. This is a big problem that calls for big solutions. Many green solutions often require compromise on one's lifestyle and are difficult to implement. The key is to take small steps but in the right direction. We asked ourselves, what consumer product does everyone use and how can we benefit from it being green? From this, the Midori name and concept were born.
Midori is the Japanese word for "green". When we started Midori Linen in 2006, the focus was mainly on bed and bath linens. We have since then expanded into other product categories such as baby and clothing. But the name Midori Linen still represents "Quality, Luxury, and Eco-Friendly" natural fiber products. Our research has shown that bamboo is such a solution and a step in the right direction. If we all take those small steps together, we will get to a greener future.
